MICHAEL LEE GERRARDMichael Lee Gerrard, a Tallahassee landscaping business owner was found stabbed to death on December 4, 2007, in a rural area of Jefferson County less than a quarter of a mile from the Leon County line. A logger driving a truck on a dirt road off Tram Road spotted his body after 3:00 p.m. The article, "Sheriff: Arrest close in stabbing death" which was published on February 10, 2008 by
Tallahassee Democrat states that this was minutes after Mr. Gerrard died. The article later states, "investigators are not sure when or where Gerrard was stabbed, but they know he was in Tallahassee earlier that day."
Deputies found his white Chevrolet Silverado truck in an unspecified parking lot on Blair Stone Road near Apalachee Parkway about five hours after his body was found, Sheriff David Hobbs of Jefferson County said. They also found the trailer that was normally attached to his truck, which Gerrard used for his business. It had been burned and left on the side of the road about a mile northwest of where his body was found. Deputies also searched a house in Tallahassee, looking for any blood evidence, DNA or items that might be connected with Gerrard's death.
