SARASOTA COUNTY -- Determining who killed a woman whose body was discovered Saturday near Myakka River State Park isn't Sarasota County sheriff's investigators first quest.
They want to know who the victim is.
"We got nothing," said Sgt. Chuck Lesaltato, spokesman for the sheriff's office.
Dr. Wilson Broussard, a medical examiner who performs autopsies in Sarasota, examined the body of the unidentified woman Sunday. He couldn't determine who she is.
The woman's body was found about two miles east of the 45-square-mile park off State Road 72 with a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts. Her pockets were empty.
She was white with brown hair. She was 5 feet 2, weighed about 100 pounds and was between the ages of 25 and 40.

Sarasota Herald Tribune | August 26, 2001
SARASOTA COUNTY -- Sheriff's investigators say a woman whose body was found two miles east of Myakka River State Park on Saturday was murdered.
She was discovered face-down by a passing motorist who was driving west on State Road 72 at about 10 a.m. Sheriff's officials declined to release many details, including how she may have died.
After a helicopter surveyed the rural area around the woman for clues, the body was taken to the medical examiner's office so that an autopsy could be conducted this morning. Detectives were hoping to use fingerprints to identify her.
It's unclear whether the woman was killed where her body was found -- about 10 feet from the road -- or whether the body was dumped there.
The woman was white and had brown hair. She was 25 to 40 years old. She was wearing a white shirt and bluejeans shorts. Her pockets were empty.
Authorities believe she was killed within about 24 hours of when she was found. Investigators are analyzing tire ...

SARASOTA COUNTY -- Sheriff's detectives are hoping a woman who called 911 to report a dead body will be able to provide more details.
The woman had called the Sheriff's Office on Friday night to report a body along State Road 72, but deputies couldn't find it. A Bradenton man heading west on the road Saturday morning saw the body and told a ranger at Myakka River State Park about it.
On Monday, the woman called the Sheriff's ...
