| Wolfscratch, I want to give you a place here (if you want it) to further write your experiences and ideas with greater detail. I personally look forward to your posts, but I have seen some on TDO give you a hard time. I have had some thoughts about Hilton too I might like to share. Daffodil |

| Daffodil, Very nice gesture on your part. jus gonna say this:: Each time you get a bigger sense of how the game is being played, you are less manipulated by it.”
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident - Arthur Schopenhauer |

| Wolfscratch or Georgia Peach do you have any new information on the identity of the woman who's bones were found in April near Hurricane Shoals Park?Woman’s bones found along I-85 Victim believed to have been thrown from bridge BY ANGELA GARY An investigation is under way into the identity of skeletal remains found by hikers Saturday near I-85. The remains were identified as likely being a female and as having been at the site for some time. Law enforcement officers believe the woman was thrown from a bridge over the Oconee River near Hurricane Shoals Park. “Investigators met with the gentlemen (hikers) first thing on Saturday morning at the site of discovery, which was under the Oconee River Bridge on Interstate 85 and confirmed that the remains were in fact human,” Sheriff Stan Evans said. Investigators and crime scene personnel were on the scene most of Saturday scouring the area and retrieving evidence. Jackson County investigators transported the remains to the Georgia State Crime Lab Monday morning for further investigation and possible identification. “All we know at this point is that the remains had been there for some time and appear to be that of a female,” Evans said. The two hikers found the remains when they were walking along the Oconee River Friday evening. http://www.mainstreetnews.com/2008/04:23:08/J0423A.html _________________ Wonder is the gateway to knowledge..

| GeorgiaPeach any news on the remains we discussed back in June? I haven't heard anymore about the skull the crabbers in the Tampa area found this past June. I'm going to follow up on the other Georgia case you and I had discussed, because enough time has passed. http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/jul/15/skull-found-old-tampa-bay-going-forensic-artist/ _________________ Wonder is the gateway to knowledge..

| Thank you for reminding me, because I do want a follow-up on those two bodies also. It is like the news services only care about publishing the discovery and from then on they are hands off any further investigation. Really sad. |

| Wolfscratch, I was looking at State Parks in the SW Georgia area, and I was drawn to Kolomoki State Historic Park. Then I found a link to a story about a major theft that occurred in March 1974. Guess who I thought of when I read this passage? "But in the dark of night in March 1974, thieves broke into the museum of the Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park and took 129 artifacts. A handful of items have been recovered from collectors and flea markets in Florida and Pennsylvania, but the whereabouts of the bulk of them remain a mystery. Now park officials are turning to the Internet for help in recovering the remaining booty from Georgia's most infamous archaeological theft. They've launched a Web site with pictures of the purloined pottery, asking art collectors, museums and others to help them gather the stolen merchandise. Eric Bentley, the park's manager, said the theft was particularly loathsome because it amounted to grave robbing. Many of the clay pots and fanciful figurines were made to honor chiefs and priests who had died." http://www.museum-security.org/02/110.htmlhttp://georgiastateparks.org/net/content/item.aspx?s=1961 _________________ Wonder is the gateway to knowledge..

| Thanks Fungshway...you never know. Professional art thieves wouldn't have passed any of these artifacts at flea markets. You would definitely want a place to store (can you say SELF STORAGE UNITS) these treasures. Based on what has been published to date Hilton's record dates to 1972, when he was charged in Miami with dealing in stolen property. http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/gwinnett/stories/2008/01/12/hilton_0113.htmlFamily members have moved my piles again, so I am having trouble finding a lot of my older research. I plan to put an outline and other stories that may be of interest together under the History section. _________________ Wonder is the gateway to knowledge..

| I found this additional information:
In 1978, Georgia and Florida law enforcement officials seized 12 pots at the home of an amateur archaeologist in North Miami. Unaware that they were stolen, the collector had acquired them at a Miami Beach rock and gem show. Police traced the seller as far as Tallahassee, but there the trail went cold.

| I'm going to go out on a limb here (speculation based on intuitive impression) and suggest that Hilton had engaged in illegally collecting and trafficking in artifacts to support himself as well as his drug habit. I couldn't help but notice that Hilton has a fondness for rocks (plutons). He obviously enjoyed his geology class. http://www.foxcarolina.com/download/2008/0429/16059891.pdf _________________ Wonder is the gateway to knowledge..
